After graduating from Bloomsburg University in May of 1993 with a bachelor's of science degree in education, Mr. Groshek began his educational career by teaching 6th through 8th grade math and science on the islands of Lanai and Maui in the state of Hawaii.  After moving back to the Bloomsburg area and obtaining a one year long term substitute position at the Central Columbia Middle School teaching 6th grade math and science, he moved to Charlotte, N.C. for a year to teach 7th grade math.  Mr. Groshek then obtained a permanent teaching position at his alma mater, Central Columbia for the start of the 1998 – 1999 school year.  He taught 7th grade math and science for three years at the middle school, while also pursuing his master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Wilkes University. 

During the month of October of the 2001 – 2002 school year, Mr. Groshek was hired as the new Assistant Principal of both the Central Columbia Middle and Elementary Schools.  He was the Assistant Principal for five years before being hired as the High School Principal on July 1, 2006. 

Mr. Groshek is married to Rondel, a Central Columbia Graduate as well.  They have two daughters, Emily and Alison.
