Academic Focus Level profile for adjusting Internet access on students iPad

Central Columbia School District has developed student iPad Academic Focus Profiles, which are (normally) active between 2:45 PM and 7:00 AM (after regular school hours, grades 4 to 12). The Academic Focus Profiles are designed to help parents and guardians limit what their children can access on their student iPad via the Internet, from home. Parents have three Academic Focus Profiles that can be selected by submitting the web form on this page.

Academic Focus Level One, SUBMIT - Activate Academic Focus Level - One SUBMIT - Deactivate Academic Focus Level - One
This profile removes social media access from the student iPad. Student's will not be able to connect to social media sites (Facebook, Facebook messaging and others). Photo sharing sites (Instagram and others), Forums (questionable themes) will be blocked. YouTube is open during school hours. This will block YouTube off-campus (at home) only. YouTube is still available during school for academic use.

In addition to Level One, the student can no longer have any access to YouTube. No access at school or off campus. Currently, students do not have access to non-educational streaming video resources on their CCSD iPad. Entertainment sites like Netflix, Hulu, and Vimeo, will not connect. Other video streaming sites like YouTube will also not function. Facetime is turned off.

In addition, to AFL One and or Two, The students Apple Photo streaming and the iPad Camera on their CCSD iPad is turned off.  All intranet student Web Email access is locked 24/7. The student can only send and receive an email from Central Columbia teachers and staff.

This service is provided to all Central Columbia School District Parents and Guardians. It is not intended to replace the parent's involvement and monitoring of their child’s Internet access. We offer it as a tool that can be used to help your child focus on their academic assignments  If you have any questions, please email Mr. John Monick, Director of Technology, Central Columbia School District at jmonick@ccsd.cc.
