Students will gain the maximum benefit of the educational opportunities by maintaining regular attendance. The pattern of attendance displayed toward school is an indicator of future attendance at work.
The state of Pennsylvania has compulsory attendance laws for students enrolled in public schools. Students are excused for illness, death in the immediate family, quarantine, and emergencies. Documentation verifying why a student was absent is required.
Without an excuse the student's absence will be counted unexcused and potentially could result in charges being filed with the District Magistrate.
For specific directions, students and parents should consult the elementary, middle, or high school student handbook.
