On Tuesday morning, May 9th, Congressman Lou Barletta and members of his staff spent two hours learning about Central Columbia High School’s Career Pathway Model, speaking with students and touring the high school building. Congressman Bartletta, who is a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, learned about the model that includes college and career readiness. Mr. Barletta heard from students and teachers who were studying nutrition, engineering, chemistry, health occupations, animal science, plant science and music. After touring the high school building, Mr. Barletta spent over 45 minutes speaking with and answering numerous questions from AP Government students in Mr. Todd Wolinsky’s class.
Engineering technologies teacher Scott Osborne presented Congressman Barletta with a personalized cutting board engineered and manufactured by students. Agriculture students Nick Oman and Austin Bissinger presented Mr. Barletta with a Central Columbia FFA tee shirt.
Mr. Barletta presented a Certificate of Special Recognition for the high school to Superintendent Harry Mathias, Principal Jeff Groshek and Assistant Principal Chris Snyder.
