UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN:
Campaign chairman Tony DaRe reports that the United Way campaign concluded with the following totals:

  • Elementary School:
    55 contributors  -  $3,569.50

  • Middle School:
    39 contributors  -  $2,488

  • High School:
    40 contributors  -  $3,655

  • District Office:
    17 contributors  -  $1,635.50

  • Total151 contributors  -  $11,348

These totals represent a 36% increase in pledges ($3,000) and 52 new donors over last year.  Thank you to all who have contributed.  Your generosity will help youth programs, elderly programs, health care programs and, in general, our fellow community members in need.

Special thanks to Mr. DaRe, as well as, building reps Karen Maciejewski (ES), Nancee Weirman (MS), Susan Repasky (HS), and Brenda Belles (DO).

The New York Yankees payroll for the 2005 season was $205,938,439.  The Yankees three highest paid players (Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, and Mike Mussina) made more money combined than 16 major league teams.  New York fans reward for this “investment”: two playoff wins.
