8th Grade Students Received Commendation from National Public Radio

student podcast challenge

A team of 8th grade students received commendation from National Public Radio for their submission in the First NPR Student Podcast Challenge.

When we received our certificate, the students felt that everyone probably received an Honorable Mention as a "warm fuzzy for participation."

However, NPR clarified for us that we were top 300 out of 5700 high school and middle school combined entries--

"Thanks for emailing! That was no mistake, and we didn’t send them to everybody! We honored around 300 of the top submissions to the Student Podcast Challenge with honorable mention certificates. We received around 5,700 submissions – and these podcasts were the standout entries.  (--Clare Lombardo, NPR)"
