Central Columbia Teachers Receive Honors at State Conference

 Agricultural/environmental science teachers from across the state of Pennsylvania met virtually and in-person during the Pennsylvania Association of Agricultural Educators (PAAE) Annual Summer Conference. This year's conference was held at Wellsboro Area High School in Tioga County. Teachers were able to meet on Tuesday for virtual workshops in which Mr. Doug Brown and Mr. Curt Turner presented a workshop on the Chapter 339 Evaluation process conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Other workshops related to curriculum instruction in the classroom and laboratory setting. On Wednesday, teachers met in person for tours of the PA Grand Canyon, local agricultural/environmental businesses as well as local agricultural producers. Also, on Wednesday PAAE conducted its annual awards banquet at the Tioga County Fairgrounds. Teachers from Central Columbia were recognized for their efforts over the past year. Ms. Kristie Folk received the following awards: PAAE News Article Club award as well as being a Teacher of a Teacher Award. Ms. Jen Fisher received the News Article Club Award as well. Mr. Curt Turner received the News Article Club award as well as won the Teacher Mentor Award in Pennsylvania and now will compete at the National Level. Lastly, Mr. Doug Brown received the News Article Club award, Penn State Cooperating Teacher Award, PAAE Teacher Mentor award and also, earned his 30 years of service award. These teachers earned these awards through the membership in PAAE as well as NAAE-National Association of Agricultural Educators. Congratulations!
