The Central Columbia Agricultural/Environmental Science Program joined forces with the Columbia County Conservation District to host the two-day Outdoor Adventure Camp located at Kocher Park in Lightstreet, PA from Tuesday, June 16 to Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Students from grades 3-6 attended the camp in which they were involved with activities such as mammal identification with Justin Faus and Jake Klinger both Game Wardens in Columbia County with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, habitat evaluation with Abby Frey Columbia County Conservation District Manager and Olivia Hubler Columbia County Education Specialist, and forest management and tree identification with Doug Brown, Agricultural/Environmental Science Instructor at Central Columbia High School. Also, assisting at the 2026 Outdoor Adventure Camp was Brooke Bissinger, Central Columbia Agricultural Science student and Maggie Stauder Columbia County Conservation District Summer Intern. Maggie presented information related to herpetology. Students also conducted water quality analysis, macroinvertebrate identification, Smart Angler training, and stream evaluation.
