On September 1st, I had the privilege of visiting the State Capital with Mya Reese and her family. Mya was recognized for winning the statewide PSA poster contest my health classes participate in. We were given a tour of the Capital and attended the press conference highlighting PA initiatives for suicide prevention and mental health. Mya was recognized at the beginning of the press conference which can be viewed with the link below (about 1:10 in).
Mya's poster will be used around the state with a message that is so important: "You Matter. This earth is so much more beautiful with you in it!!"
It's a beautiful poster with a message that can help save lives.
Congratulations to Mya! She won $500 for her poster. She also won $500 for the high school to put towards a mental health initiative.
